Craig Rypkema is new to the construction/manufacturing industry. He is a graduate from the University of Vermont where he earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering Management. After graduating in 2009, he worked at Cummins as a Warranty Engineer and handled diesel engine claims covering all of North America. Meanwhile, his passion for aviation was building and he decided to pursue this. He attended ATP Flight School and became a flight instructor to build flight time. From there, he went on to the airlines to fly an Embraer 120 for Ameriflight, based out of Puerto Rico. While he was enjoying flying in the Caribbean, an opportunity presented itself that Craig could not pass up. He and his father opened a commercial truck dealership in Queensbury, NY. This opened many doors for him to build a business in a small community, develop his team, and build strong relationships within the community. The business operated successfully for over 5 years and was then sold in 2017. After the sale of the business, he combined his sales experience with his engineering education as a Sales Engineer at The Fort Miller Co. In his role, Craig is responsible for estimating and managing various types of projects involving precast concrete such as drainage structures, bridge superstructures and custom heavy civil structures. Having over one year of service, Craig has become passionate about his work and customers and has a desire to grow within the Company and the industry. |
